The 04/14/2005 issue of the Hershey Chronicle has another article that lends support to this referendum.

Land tax use plan - preserving open space - 04/07/2005,Hershey Chronicle

"The referendum, which was introduced by Derry Township Supervisors Board chairman Tom Brogan and unanimously approved by the board, proposes to increase the earned income tax by .1 percent for township residents. The money to be raised during the referendum's 10 -year period would be used to make purchases of as-yet-unidentified open space land throughout Derry."

Proposed development denied - 08/12/2004, Hershey Chronicle

Patriot News of 6/29/04 on Page E1 mentions that the Supervisors have until July 31 to decide on cluster housing (like the Chronicle reported). But the article also states: "The developer, Red Tail Ridge Partners, won rezoning of the land from agriculture to residential..."  A reliable source indicates that Jeff Kaiser confirmed that the zoning change has not been approved, nor the comprehensive plan nor the clustering.
